CATFISH YUM TOURNAMENT

Saturday ,July 31,2010 contestants weathered the extreme heat and the 1st annual Catfish Yum Lake o the Pines Tournament is in the books .There were two ways to win in this tournament and William Thornton of Island View won both of them . Mr. Thornton won the big stringer award with a weight of 11.25 lbs. and he also won the heaviest fish award with a catfish weighing 3.45 lbs. This tournament paid five places for the heaviest stringer of five fish and one place for the biggest catfish .The top 16 and pay out were as follows:
1st Place - William Thornton of Island View - $405                    
2nd Place - Bubba Lawrence of North Shore - $255                 
3rd Place - Daniel Mauldin of North Shore - $200                       
4th Place - Dean Smith of Harleton - $150                                 
5th Place - James Walker of Jefferson $100                             
6th Place - Aaron Mask of North Shore                                     
7th Place - Marty Mayfield of Marshall                                      
8th Place - James Gentry of New Diana
9th Place - Cole Barnes of North Shore
10th Place - Wilma Casteen of North Shore (Top Lady Angler)
11th Place - Walter Abernathy of New Diana
12th Place - Colton Knuckols of Harleton
13th Place - Jerry Hodges of Henderson
14th Place - Donald Maxey of Harleton
15th Place - Joey Terra of Hallsville
16th Place - Sam Akins of Longview  

The top 5 heaviest catfish were as follows :
1st Place - William Thornton
2nd Place - Donald Maxey
3rd Place - Bubba Lawrence - tie
3rd Place - Cole Barnes - tie
4th Place - Dean Smith
5th Place - Marty Mayfield
